SSC GD Exam is being conducted by Staff Selection Commission of India to recruit candidates for the General Duty post of Constables (GD) in BSF, CISF, ITBP, CRPF and Rifleman in AR. SSC GD Constable 2021 Notification has been postponed by the Commission due to the increase in the Covid-19 cases in India. Earlier, it was scheduled to be released in the first week of May 2021.

The official notification for SSC GD Constable 2021 exam was scheduled to be released by first week of May, 2021 but it has been postponed due to the surge in Covid-19 cases in India. The fresh date SSC GD Constable notification will be announced by the Commission in due course after assessing the situation.

SSC GD Recruitment 2021

The recruitment process of SSC GD 2021 will begin post the release of SSC GD 2021 Notification. Candidates are required to apply online for SSC GD 2021 Exam.

SSC GD 2021 Exam will be conducted to selected candidates for the post of constable in BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSF, SSB, NIA and riflemen in Assam Rifles(AR). The entire recruitment process of SSC GD 2021 will be completed in four stages: Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and at the last the Medical Test.

SSC GD 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Candidates applying for GD Constable (BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSF, SSB, NIA and riflemen) must have passed 10th class or equivalent from a recognized board.

Age Limit: Candidate is required to be between 18 to 23 years in order to be eligible for SSC GD 2021 Exam. Age relaxation is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per the government rules. The crucial date of age-limit will be calculated with reference to 01-08-2021.

SSC GD 2021 Exam Pattern

SSC GD 2021 Exam will be conducted in three main steps:

  • Written examination (Computer Based)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Physical Standard Test (PST)

The Computer Based Examination (CBE) will be conducted by the Commission English/ Hindi Only. The test will be objective type test constituting of 4 sections. 25 questions are to be asked each carrying 1 marks. 0.25 marks will be deducted when a question is attempted wrong.

SSC GD Constable Exam Pattern 2021

As per the SSC GD Constable exam pattern, the Tier 1 exam is an online, multiple-choice based exam. The exam consists of 4 sections having 100 questions in total. The total marks assigned for the online exam is 100. The duration for the Tier I exam is 90 minutes. The questions in all the above components will be of 10th level.

Note:

Pregnancy at the time of PET will be considered a disqualification and pregnant female candidates shall be rejected at this stage.

The Ex-servicemen who will be shortlisted in Computer Based Examination will have to appear in PET/PST stage for recording measurement of height, chest and weight only. PET will not be held for these Ex-servicemen candidates. Further, they will have to qualify medical Examination (DME).

SSC GD Constable Syllabus 2021

The syllabus for the SSC GD Online examination will be as follows:

SSC GD Syllabus (General Intelligence & Reasoning)

Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non- verbal series, coding and decoding, etc.

SSC GD Syllabus (General Knowledge and General Awareness)

Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

SSC GD Syllabus (Elementary Mathematics)

This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.
